ComPact
The ComPact offers universal coating thickness measurement and material analysis at an extremely reasonable price/performance ratio. Designed for customers where, in addition to high precision, ease of use and versatility are major factors, the ComPact is the ideal measuring system. A precise and non-destructive measurement, even of multilayer samples, can be performed in a few seconds. Thickness and composition of alloy coatings can be analysed simultaneously. Additionally, the ComPact can provide accurate analysis of plating solutions. The ComPact 5 chamber together with an optimised x-ray beam geometry allows the use of very small collimators (60micronx60microns). A software controlled X-Y-Z sample stage allows automatic measurement sequences. The ComPact PIN is equipped with silicon based PIN Diode detector to reach higher performance in terms of precision and accuracy of the analysis. With a better signal/noise ratio, higher resolution and lower limit of detection, it is the proper analyser for precisly calculating the composition of solid pieces of jewellery, precious coins and other noble metals. The analysis is performed non-contact and non-destructive in about 2 to 3 minutes. The result is given in weight-% or Karat (typical accuracy ±0.05% or ±0.5 ppt). An accuracy for Au of ±0.05% or ±0.05 Karat can be achieved with an analysis time of 2 minutes. For all other admixtures the accuracy is in the same range. The accuracy of the X-ray spectrometric determination of gold shall be validated by certified standards of jewellery alloy samples.
